Both approaches are fine.

MRKHmrkhmusichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05724027246990759522noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3901297.post-1131756704022039592005-11-11T16:51:00.000-08:002005-11-11T16:51:00.000-08:00I Love Kirbys CD Inside- I thought everything was ...I Love Kirbys CD Inside- I thought everything was great about it. As an LDS musician, I found it both stinging and hilarious at the same time!

MRKHmrkhmusichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05724027246990759522noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3901297.post-1115916599454551052005-05-12T09:49:00.000-07:002005-05-12T09:49:00.000-07:00Mark, "The Emperor has no clothes!" A (monetarily)...Mark, "The Emperor has no clothes!" A (monetarily)successfull artist once explained his "talent" to me: "Add a few zeros to your price, tell collectors that your art has been sold in (hoity toity city), and then convince buyers you will not take a penny less! Convince them you are worth the price. Talent has nothing to do with it."

This album has a great voice, but he's trying to sell you something "deep" because business has convinced this artist that is what he needs to do to be successful. It's a shame really, because after a while someone -like you- who knows, will pass this 6' red square of canvas and say, "There's nothing there that is worth the $25,000."

The bigger shame is that eventually real art loses it's worth in exchange for "pop" art.

Great post.
